About the Author
Lynn Harris is a dedicated mother, full-time professional, and passionate storyteller who believes books have the power to inspire curiosity, kindness, and connection. Writing has always been a creative outlet for her, and she is thrilled to share stories that spark imagination and encourage young readers to explore the world around them.
Her debut picture book series, The Magical Zoo, introduces readers to a whimsical world of animal friends whose adventures celebrate friendship, compassion, and acceptance.
Lynn is also the creator of The Secret Door Chronicles, an early chapter book adventure series that follows young travelers as they step through a magical door to discover new countries, cultures, and friendships across the globe.
When she isn’t writing, Lynn enjoys spending time with her children, traveling, and dreaming up new adventures for future readers. She is currently developing additional stories for middle grade, young adult, and adult audiences — with many more adventures still to come.
My Story
I was born and raised in Southern California and continue to live in the Pasadena area with my family. I attended the University of Southern California, where I earned degrees in Business, Biology, and Spanish. Although I explored creative writing during college, it wasn’t until becoming a parent that I fully embraced my passion for storytelling.
Determined to develop my craft, I continued my writing education through UCLA Extension, where I strengthened both my skills and confidence as a writer. In 2023, I published my first children’s book, followed by additional titles in 2024 as my stories and series began to grow.
Today, Lynn enjoys creating imaginative worlds that encourage curiosity, kindness, and adventure for young readers. With new books and series continually in development, she looks forward to sharing many more stories with readers of all ages.
